Eamon’s Wish
By Wish Mom, Nicole
I’m not really sure how to begin writing my letter of gratitude to you. I think I’ve put it off for a bit because it’s difficult to put into words how life-giving, refreshing, and grounding our trip was.
Our son, Eamon, had a wish to go to Legoland, and boy, did you guys deliver! From the pre-approval talks and texts, to the beautiful party and wish reveal; from being greeted at the Orlando airport by two of the most caring individuals, to every single last detail of spending a week at Give Kids the World. It was all a dream come true, not just for our son, but for our whole family.
Eamon has a rare neurologic, degenerative genetic disorder. He’s doing comparatively well now physically, but we know the many challenges that lay ahead for him. It was wonderful to be able to experience a week of whimsical fun and endless ice cream and pizza, hours of late-night swimming at the Village pools, and the many parks in Orlando, including Legoland! We were able to make so many family memories that will stay with us for a long time and carry us through the hardships that will come.
As a mom, I am so appreciative of having had the opportunity to see Eamon and his siblings enjoy themselves that week, and be on the receiving end of kindness and attention from all the volunteers and friends from the Montana Hope Project and Give Kids the World. I am so eternally grateful for all you have done for our family.
Thank you so very much, from the bottom of my heart.
