Montana Hope Project Hosts Summer Reunion
Surprise!
Our 2026 Summer Reunion had all the things our guests have come to expect- rides in patrol cars, sports cars, side by sides, and motorcycles. Best Rate Towing, located in Belgrade, MT, have expanded their collection of characters, and no amount of rain was going to dampen the fun outside!
Inside, Chisum Green provided bull roping lessons while others enjoyed quiet games & coloring. Cars played on the big screen while caregivers enjoyed a calming, reflective activity in the other room, courtesy of Dr. Michelle Danielson & Kelly Kander. Wandering the halls, passing out goodies, was Safety Bear, who traveled all the way from Canada!
JC Denton of JC Denton Photography was there to capture memories with his camera lens, and MHP Troopers and Ian Patey of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police were dressed up and ready to pose with kids and families.
We presented long-time motorcycle & Corvette driver, Darryl Kolstad, with a Montana Hope Project Bronze commemorating his 20 years of volunteer work and dedication to our mission. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the MHP Honor Guard & Ian Patey for presenting the colors during the playing of the National Anthem prior to dinner. Following dinner, we had a very special guest, “Trooper Miles, “our new mascot fully funded by our friends at Farmers State Bank. Chisum Green helped bring Trooper Miles to life and we are grateful to have a former “Champ” at our disposal!
There are so many people who continue to make our Summer Reunions extra special. In addition to those mentioned above, Zip Beverage in Missoula, Gusto Distributing in Helena, and Lehrkinds Inc of Helena provided delicious drinks to keep us hydrated all weekend long. Coordinators, officers, and volunteers spend their time ensuring all needs are met and the weekend runs smoothly, and of course, Fairmont Hot Springs Resort, whose staff continues to be our greatest asset by anticipating our every need!
