Ride for Hope Coordinator
I joined the Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Office in 1973 and retired in 2011 after thirty eight and a half years. During that time I was a volunteer Adopt-a-Cop for twenty years at the small Pioneer Elementary School in Shepherd and have always enjoyed my interaction with kids, going back to coaching baseball, football and basketball as a teenager while I was growing up. In 2005 I rode my first Ride for Hope and became familiar with the Montana Hope Project and the wonderful work it does with our ill Montana kids and their families. In 2012 I was asked to become coordinator for the Ride for Hope since I had worked on two large regional and international conventions for the Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club. When the eastern Montana area coordinator position came open I was again tapped with the opportunity to expand my work with the Hope Project and jumped at the opportunity to take on the second position. This has truly been a dream retirement opportunity for me, meeting all of the wonderful kids and their families as well as the generous donors who make it all possible.
